    Ethical and Sustainable Sleepwear

Pyjamas are for life, not just for Christmas Winter! I absolutely love pyjamas. I love them to be matching, i love them to be loose and comfy and of course I love them to look good enough to run to the corner shop for milk in. I will admit, incase it’s not already obvious, but i am a bit obsessive with them and I believe it’s important to have sets in all different weights for all the different seasons, haha. Sustainable Sleepwear Roundup I really wanted to do a bigger round up of ethical and sustainable pyjamas that are available for the UK, but i have found it a lot harder…

    Sunday Confessions

One of my favourite podcasts is ‘The Guilty Feminist’, it’s hilarious and I urge you to go and listen now – not to go too far off on a tangent but the stories and anecdotes they tell have really helped me to process why some things irritate and annoy me and to then articulacy explain why. Anyway they start each episode with a confession of something they have done or thought that is non-feminist. Brand Highlight : Finisterre

Ok today’s brand I would like to highlight was introduced to me by my boyfriend. He’s actually better than me at buying clothes from ethical and sustainable brands – Most of mine are second hand, where as he doesn’t have so much time to shop as I do so he tends to buy clothing new. Finisterre the brand started back in 2003  with an innovative fleece, designed and made above a surf shop, made by people who love the sea, for people who love the sea. It is a brand geared towards people who love to be outside, who want practical clothing for an evening or weekend surfing, however…

Weekend Thoughts : Beauty V Fashion

A couple of weeks ago I set myself a little task. To go to my local high street to see what ethical or sustainable fashion and beauty items are easily available. I will be doing a separate post on that fully, but today I just have a few musings about something I noticed, and would like to hear your thoughts also; After my first stop in a well known department store I started to feel quite positive about my trip because in the beauty hall, as I looked around, I spotted around 3 natural, organic, ethical beauty brands. Great! But then it hit me, Of course there are more…

    My Shopping Rules

Over the years I have established 3 key rules that I generally try and stick to. Buy second hand where possible.  If buying new, buy ethically and sustainably.  If I can’t buy ethically, make sure it is something I LOVE.   The choice to shop second hand as my main source for clothes was mostly made for me, by the factor of MONEY, or lack there of it.  It was simply the most affordable and easiest way for me to start making my wardrobe more sustainable, and to also enable me to buy higher quality items.   I am fortunate that in my ‘day’ job as a costume designer /…
