Ethical shops taking over the world!

This spring/ summer seems to be an excellent season for lots of new ethical style shops opening! This makes me incredibly happy because as we all know, VISIBILITY is one thing I think that is truly holding this movement down. So having more brick and mortar shops is BRILLAINT. It will aid in helping people to make sustainable and ethical choices SO much more easily, and hopefully help convert some as well 😉 My Pop-up shop and market map at Christmas was quite a success so I have decided to do a permanent version for the UK. I will keep adding to it the more I discover so PLEASE do…

Weekend Thoughts : Catch up and confessions

Happy Sunday! The sun is out and the birds are chirping and after this weeks snow storm it feel like a complete breath of fresh air. I had a feeling this would happen, that despite all my good intentions to keep this blog updated along side my day job, it hasn’t of course happened. But I won’t go on about that, or make more excuses, so I thought I would do a small catch up post with some things that have been happening, things i’ve been discovering and enjoying. Also I do try to post at least daily on Instagram so make sure to follow me there too! First up…

Sustainability in high end fashion shouldn’t just be another trend. With this recent surge of designers looking to create more sustainable lines within their collections it’s hard not to be slightly cynical that, as is the nature of fashion, it’s just a fad and once the David Attenborough documentary, has faded from consumers minds, so too will the efforts of designers to be more mindful. (To be fair though I am by nature a cynic; I am cynical about everything and regularly have to check myself to ensure I’m not over doing it and about to be abandoned by my friends.) Exploring the world of Christopher Raeburn One designer I…

    DAGNY London

Sustainable Luxury My ‘collections’ and book mark tabs on my browser and instagram are becoming laden with brands and companies I want to shout about. I know I say this a lot, but it seriously blows my mind how many people are out there making beautiful, gorgeous and interesting but conscious clothing. So I have to start somewhere and today is DAGNY day. The first thing that really drew me in was the selected colour palette and the beautiful prints. There is definitely a vintage vibe happening but it’s also very fresh and modern, and also pretty classic. The kind of clothes you buy because you absolutely love and will…

    Ethical Alternatives : CÉLINE TRIO

I’ve been looking for a nice cross body bag for a while now, something I can use on nights out (LOL on those are rare occasions) but also something I can use for work. With my job sometimes I spend days on end out shopping with a suitcase or shopper in tow so a cross body is ideal for me to access my purse, ipad and tape measure. The famous Céline Trio was recently bought back on to my radar and I realised that it would be the perfect solution. The three (Same size) pockets would be SO useful for staying organised during work trips, and I believe that one…

    Easy Ethical : ETHLETIC

Just a quick brand show case today as I am off on a work trip for 2 weeks. I hope to find some time to blog while I’m away, but considering I have been finding it difficult to do so while at home that may or may not happen! How do you other bloggers manage it!? SO… My boyfriend is probably better than me at buying clothing from sustainable and ethical brands. While the majority of my clothes seem to come from second hand shops, his are usually new and mostly bought from ethical stores. The other day he was looking for a new backpack, one with specific straps so…

Pants! Round up of boxers and briefs.

A few weeks a go I wrote a post rounding up some excellent ladies underwear and lingerie (you can read it here). I also included some tips on looking after your underwear to increase the longevity of it thus making it even more sustainable. Although on my blog so far there has been a tilt towards womenswear, it wasn’t my intention to make it exclusively this. To be fair a lot of the brands I have featured do cater for all tastes, but I think I will also start to include some mens wear specific posts as well. Of course there are no rules anyway of who can wear what…
